Title:           Large deviations

                        10am, Thursday 23rd March, 2006

                         Priestley  Blding, room 140

Abstract:

The concept of large deviation will be explained as exponential convergence in the law of large numbers.
Several large deviation results will be discussed for the eigenvalue density of different random matrices.
Large deviation type results and questions will be presented in the setting of quantum spin chains as well.

All interested are invited to attend.
