UQ MATHEMATICAL PHYSICS WORKSHOP 2001

The 2nd Mathematical Physics Winter Workshop run by the Centre for Mathematical Physics at The University of Queensland was held at Calypso Plaza, Coolangatta, Gold Coast over 5-8 July 2001. The workshop aimed to foster closer ties between researchers working in all areas of mathematical physics throughout Australia, particularly in the fields of statistical mechanics, quantum field theory, quantum information theory and algebraic and geometric methods in mathematical physics. The workshop included both invited and contributed talks; see the program and abstracts for details.

Registration

The registration fee of $60 included morning and afternoon tea and lunch over the course of the meeting and an informal reception on the evening of 5 July.

Accommodation

Student Discounts

Students received free registration on presentation of a letter from their supervisor or Head of Department confirming their status as students. They were also eligible for free twin-share accommodation at Sunset Strip (through Ozaccom).

Conference Dinner

A calypso-style BBQ dinner was held at Calypso Plaza on the evening of 7 July; $30 per person.

Transport

Calypso Plaza is 4 km from Coolangatta airport; transfer to the resort by coach or taxi. Ozaccom offered discounts on Qantas flights of up to 55% unconditionally, 70% conditionally.
