Welcome to Mathematics.

We form part of The School of Physical Sciences within the Faculty of Engineering, Physical Sciences and Architecture, together with Earth Sciences and Physics.

The discipline is administered by a Head, in conjunction with a Management Committee, with a provision for all members of staff to play a role in its affairs and policies.

The discipline is loosely divided into five Programs: Algebra & Combinatorics, Applied Mathematics, Analysis, Scientific Computing and Statistics. Research Centres provide a complementary structure to the programs. The role of the Centres is to provide a formalised structure for the pursuit of contract research, consulting projects and other activities associated with raising the level of external funding.
